The purpose of the role of a Senior Project Manager is key in managing end to end delivery of Technology & Innovation projects and initiatives in support of the Division and Company objectives. The ideal candidate will be required to have the capability to understand the technology context and demonstrate curiosity such that realistic and achievable plans can be put in place along with a detailed understanding of project risks, issues and dependencies.
The Senior Project Manager will bring leadership, order and discipline and deliver business benefits at an appropriate pace in a working environment that may be unstructured, requiring clear focus on the correct tasks and the drive to make things happen.
What will you be doing?
- Managing project delivery to agreed time, cost, scope and quality criteria
- Planning, forecasting, managing and proactively monitoring key projects progress
- Managing dependencies, risks and issues, driving pragmatic ‘fit for purpose’ solutions and initiating appropriate action to support project success
- Managing communications with all stakeholders
- Reporting the progress at regular intervals and generation of ad hoc reports as required
- Creating overall plans for the delivery of the projects
- Managing decisions, supported by well-constructed options analysis and relevant data
- The Senior Project Manager will be working on Ai, product releases and customer experience projects
What we are looking for?:
- A strong project delivery background, preferably in the telecoms, utilities or IT sectors
- Owned end-to-end project budgets for complex, cross-functional initiatives, managing expenditures, forecasts, and business cases to ensure financial alignment and delivery within approved funding.
- Strong experience in governing projects and tracking progress
- Strong experience in managing change via clear change management principles – experience with envisioning the change “arrival point” and interacting with stakeholders to get them there
- Demonstrable experience gained leading projects by developing and maintaining project plans, managing project scope, budget, and resources, and managing project risks and issues effectively
- Experience in collaboration platforms for project delivery – e.g., Jira, Clarizen
- Fundamental understanding of process modelling and improvement
- Experience of programmes as well as project management in customer focused projects with external clients and internal customers
- A Senior Project Manager with gravitas, who can drive projects with strong focus on ownership and accountability, as well as strong communication skills with the Exec team
