Security Architect – IFRS 9 & 17 Systems | Public Sector Programme

Location: London (Hybrid 1-2 Days travel a week)

What You’ll Do

As a Security Architect, you’ll be responsible for designing end‑to‑end security solutions and shaping the security posture for critical financial systems. You will:

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and design security architecture for IFRS 9 & 17 services
  • Produce and maintain security documentation, patterns, and reusable components
  • Conduct technical analysis and translate it into actionable security designs
  • Identify underlying technical issues and recommend solutions
  • Align architecture with enterprise‑level standards and roadmaps

Security Activities

  • Perform threat modelling and security risk assessments
  • Define and agree security control sets
  • Respond to, mitigate, and track security risks
  • Implement vulnerability management processes
  • Assess effectiveness of controls and manage service observability
  • Evaluate security impact of changes across the environment

Analysis & Technical Design

  • Ability to evaluate complex technical environments and create complete, effective security designs

Communication

  • Strong grasp of security concepts and ability to communicate implications clearly to technical & non‑technical stakeholders
  • Confident in challenging assumptions and guiding decisions

Secure System Design

  • Experience designing and reviewing secure architectures using industry patterns & principles
  • Working with risk owners to influence decisions
  • Explaining methodologies and advising whether risks sit within tolerance

Security Technologies

  • Understanding of modern security technologies, vulnerabilities, and their impact on future designs
  • Ability to consider policy, compliance, business architecture, and legal implications when shaping solutions
