DevOps Engineers

Skills.

• Experience in a DevOps, infrastructure, or platformengineering role within complex digital environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices.

Experience.

Must haves

• Experience working in regulated or secure environments (defence, government, or similar preferred).
• Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Implementing infrastructure as code using approved tooling and patterns.
• Applying repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure to support consistency across environments.
• Use of AWS for cloud infrastructure, implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Docker and the Kubernetes ecosystem, including deployment and management of clusters using EKS.
• Developing common services, manuals etc. to support delivery teams in taking ownership of their services through the entire development life cycle.
• CLI (BASH or SHELL).
• Delivery methods and techniques, including agile scrum experience.
• VCS (ideally Github).
• Building and maintaining containers.
• Good communication skills both in written and verbal format with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Strong soft skills, such as teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability.

Nice to haves

• Experience of doing all of the above at OS or S level.
• YAML based pipelines.
• Experience with MOD delivery processes.
• Hashicorp (such as Terraform, Packer, Vault).
• Observability (such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) Containerised services (such as Postgres, Redis, Kafka, Keycloak, Elk).
