Job Description:

Project Development Manager / Construction Project Manager — Advanced Nuclear Energy Infrastructure

Location: UK (flexible/hybrid) Type: Permanent

An emerging nuclear energy technology developer is building its core project team ahead of a significant development phase. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, senior team at the earliest stage of a programme that aims to fundamentally change how nuclear energy is deployed.

The organisation is developing an innovative approach to nuclear power generation that draws on construction, permitting, and project development expertise from outside the traditional nuclear build model. The work ahead involves site development, environmental permitting, planning consent, and supply chain mobilisation — requiring someone who is comfortable navigating complexity in a pre-FID, pre-construction environment.

What we are looking for:

We are not looking for the perfect CV. We are looking for people who have done several of the following and can learn the rest:

  • Construction project management on complex, regulated infrastructure
  • Development consent, environmental permitting, or HSE/CDM regulatory processes
  • Procurement and supply chain management in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience working with shipyards, maritime construction, or offshore/nearshore infrastructure
  • Licensing or regulatory interface in a safety-critical industry (nuclear experience welcome but not required)

What matters most is that you are intellectually curious, comfortable with ambiguity, and have the kind of broad practical experience that lets you look at a new challenge and say — I can figure that out.

Why this is interesting:

This programme is small by design. You will work directly with the founding team, own significant scope from day one, and be part of shaping how the organisation grows. For the right person, this is the kind of role that comes along once in a career.
