IT Service Desk Technician

Pertemps Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading retail organisation to recruit an IT Service Desk Analyst to join their busy Incident Management team based in Plymouth.  This role involves providing remote 1st and 2nd line IT support for EPOS systems and associated applications and hardware across a large retail estate.   Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive IT support within a retail environment, focusing on EPOS systems and related sub-systemsReceive, log, monitor and respond to service requests via multiple communication channelsDiagnose and resolve issues relating to till systems, peripherals and connectivityTroubleshoot hardware including printers, scanners and payment devices (PEDs)Escalate complex or high-priority incidents to internal and external teams in line with agreed proceduresFollow up with end users to ensure issues are fully resolvedAct as a customer-focused point of contact for internal users and relevant external partiesSupport ad-hoc IT tasks as directed by the IT Service Desk Team Leader or senior IT staffMaintain up-to-date technical knowledge as new systems and technologies are introduced Person Specification Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an IT support or Service Desk rolePrevious experience in a customer-facing environmentBasic understanding of network infrastructure (LAN/WAN) and troubleshootingGood overall knowledge of IT systems and technical terminologyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsReliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team   What’s on Offer Competitive salaryPension schemeLong service awardsEmployee discountCycle to work scheme   Additional Information Hours: Working days and hours to be discussed at interviewLocation: Plymouth, DevonEmployment Type: Temporary to Permanent, Full-Time To apply or for further information, please contact Chelsea Goodman in the Pertemps Plymouth branch….
