This is your opportunity to take on a number one BD&M position, working directly with firm leadership to define and drive the growth strategy of a tier one UK law firm, known for its strength across specialist sectors.
You’ll be a trusted advisor to senior partners — someone they rely on for insight, direction and challenge. You’ll have real ownership, with the autonomy to introduce ideas, shape initiatives and see them through to delivery.
You’ll lead and evolve the BD&M function, setting the direction while staying close enough to ensure quality, consistency and impact. It’s a leadership role that allows you to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
You’ll also play a key role in strengthening client relationships, spotting new opportunities and positioning the firm at the forefront of its markets — giving you clear visibility of the difference you’re making.
This role would suit an experienced Senior Manager or existing Head of Business Development looking for a broader remit and greater influence. What matters most is credibility with partners, strong commercial judgement and the confidence to operate at leadership level.
You would be joining a well-established law firm of around 350 people, all under one roof in London. The firm is known for its genuinely personable and collaborative culture, creating a close-knit and supportive working environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the BD&M function, setting direction and ensuring quality, consistency and impact across the firm.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior partners, providing insight, direction and constructive challenge.
- Own initiatives from concept through delivery, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Strengthen client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and position the firm at the forefront of its markets.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to define and drive growth strategy for a tier one UK law firm.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Credibility with partners and strong commercial judgment.
- Experience at Senior Manager level or as Head of Business Development seeking broader remit and greater influence.
- Ability to operate at leadership level with strategic vision and ability to implement and deliver.
- Proven track record in business development and marketing within a professional services environment.
