Operations Manager

Marriott Drilling Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in a full-time, salaried role with an attractive employment package. This is a senior leadership position suited to a highly experienced drilling professional with strong operational, HSE, and people management capabilities.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:

• Legal right to work in the UK and/or willingness to relocate to the local area (alternative working structures may be considered for the right candidate)
• 20+ years’ experience in the drilling and rig contracting industry
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Operations Manager role
• Strong technical knowledge of drilling operations and associated equipment
• Proven experience managing Rig Managers and operational field teams
• Strong understanding of industry governing bodies, including API, and full compliance requirements
• Ability to work closely with operational and rig-based HSE teams, promoting best practice
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and team management skills
• Willingness to travel overseas for extended periods as required
• High level of computer literacy, with strong capability in digital reporting and document control
• Proactive problem solver, focused on improving operational performance
• Sound understanding of client and contract management, including cost control and budget awareness
• Strong experience in rig reactivation and project start-ups
• Robust downhole knowledge, including management of third-party drilling service providers
• A strong Health, Safety & Environment culture, with visible leadership in HSE performance
