If you are passionate about building world-class cloud architectures and want to join a team that values innovation and excellence, we invite you to apply today and help us transform how we harness data.

What you’ll be doing

Ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, meet business requirements, adhere to quality standards, and deliver value within cost constraints.

  • Communicating solution designs, key decisions, and approaches clearly to stakeholders, governance forums, and project bodies, including the Technical Design Authority (TDA).
  • Overseeing solution development and engaging in implementation activities as required, while applying knowledge of technology options and surveying the external market for insights and vendor solutions.
  • Conducting analysis of technology alternatives, including benefits, costs, and risks; performing gap analyses and developing proof-of-concepts for new solutions.
  • Retaining accountability for architecture and design throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with the original design, and managing the production of Key Decision Documents with appropriate governance processes.
  • Assessing and selecting packaged solutions in collaboration with business teams, IT procurement, and Managed Service Providers, and producing IT review documents to ensure due diligence.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in the strategic application of technology.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience; AWS certification is desirable.
  • Proven ability to design and build complex, cloud-hosted data platforms on AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps best practices, including Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.
  • Experience integrating cloud systems and third‑party services (IaaS, SaaS/DBaaS such as Snowflake, MongoDB Atlas).
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (networking, OS concepts, security protocols) and secure system design.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and modern development methodologies (TDD, Agile).
  • Hands‑on experience with data engineering: ETL/ELT pipelines, data formats (JSON, Avro), and high‑volume analytics systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements, document solution designs, and articulate technical decisions clearly.

Benefits

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance‑related bonus plan and valuable share schemes.
  • Generous pension contribution.
  • Life assurance.
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only).
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. Option to buy and sell holiday.
  • Competitive family leave.
  • Participation in our electric car scheme, offering employees the option to hire a brand‑new electric car through tax‑efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only).
  • Discounts on our own products and at a range of high‑street stores and online.
  • Well‑designed workspace and wellbeing focus (as applicable).
