Role Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will lead commercial activity across a defined UK territory, with a focus on the Midlands region. This role combines new business development with strategic account management, driving both adoption and expansion of advanced cardiovascular diagnostic solutions.

This is a home-based position with regular regional travel (60–80%) to customer sites, events, and meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities across the assigned region
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, leading the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract
  • Develop and execute regional strategies to expand presence within NHS and private healthcare settings

Account Management

  • Drive adoption and utilisation of advanced diagnostic solutions within existing accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clinical stakeholders including Cardiologists, Radiologists, and Primary Care Physicians
  • Provide ongoing support, education, and solutions to ensure clinical and commercial success
  • Promote the value proposition across hospital networks and healthcare systems
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams including Marketing, Market Access, Clinical Specialists, and Product teams
  • Support and organise educational initiatives such as workshops, clinical events, and stakeholder meetings
  • Capture and share customer insights to inform product development and market strategy

Targets & Performance

  • Achieve or exceed regional sales and adoption targets
  • Drive measurable growth in utilisation across key accounts
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and account planning via CRM systems
  • Proven success in healthcare sales, ideally within cardiology, diagnostics, or medical devices
  • Experience introducing and scaling innovative technologies within NHS and/or private healthcare environments
  • Strong understanding of clinical pathways and programme development
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex solutions into clinical value
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across clinical and commercial audiences
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (Science, Business, Healthcare, etc.)
  • 7–10+ years’ experience in healthcare sales
  • Demonstrated success launching or growing adoption of diagnostic or medical technologies within healthcare systems
