About the role

We are looking for a commercially driven, entrepreneurial Senior Business Development Manager to build and grow our commercial business across the UK.

Primed Talent has established strength in the public sector. We are now looking to strengthen and scale our commercial / corporate business by expanding relationships with private-sector employers and organisations that need support in workforce development, reskilling, upskilling, training, talent consulting, and related business solutions.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who enjoys opening doors, creating opportunities from scratch, and winning new business in a growth-stage environment. The successful candidate will operate with a hunter mindset and help shape the next phase of our commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and grow the commercial business across the UK private sector
  • Identify, target, and win new clients for Primed Talent’s commercial offerings
  • Drive new business across services related to:
  • Corporate training
  • Reskilling and upskilling
  • Talent consulting
  • Learning and workforce capability solutions
  • General business and training-related services
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach through to proposal, negotiation, and closure
  • Build a strong pipeline of opportunities through direct outreach, networking, referrals, meetings, and market development
  • Engage senior stakeholders including HR leaders, L&D heads, operations leaders, business unit heads, and decision-makers in corporate organisations
  • Position the business as a strategic partner for capability building, learning services, and talent-related solutions
  • Work closely with internal teams to shape client pitches, proposals, case studies, and solution-led responses
  • Represent the business in London and across the UK at client meetings, networking events, and business development discussions
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline, sales reporting, forecasting, and opportunity tracking
  • Share market feedback and insights on sectors, client needs, competition, and commercial opportunities
  • Build a strong commercial pipeline and revenue base for the business
  • Contribute towards an ambition of £1M+ in commercial growth over a 12-month period, through pipeline generation, conversion, and new client wins

Candidate profile

  • 5–15 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, or commercial growth roles
  • Strong track record in new business acquisition and hunter‑led sales activity
  • Experience selling services rather than only products
  • Exposure to one or more of the following would be highly relevant:
  • Corporate training
  • Learning and development solutions
  • Reskilling / upskilling solutions
  • Talent consulting
  • Consulting‑led service offerings
  • Entrepreneurial and self‑driven, with the ability to work in a business that is growing its commercial presence
  • Comfortable operating as an individual contributor with high ownership and accountability
  • Strong sales capability including prospecting, relationship building, consultative selling, negotiation, and closing
  • Confident in engaging senior stakeholders and creating value‑led business conversations
  • Willingness to travel nationally across the UK
  • London market exposure would be an advantage

This role offers the opportunity to help build and scale the commercial side of a business with strong existing credibility and a growing set of services. It is well suited to someone who wants to make a visible impact, create revenue, and help shape a business that is moving into its next phase of growth.
