Location: Sittingbourne

Salary: £65,000

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (flexibility required)

About the Role

Alice Rose is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join a leading engineering services provider based in Sittingbourne. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of maintenance operations, leading a team and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality services in line with contractual and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all maintenance operations across the site
  • Establish and manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team (including appraisals and performance monitoring)
  • Allocate workload, schedule tasks, and manage day‑to‑day activities
  • Act as the main point of contact for client and team escalations
  • Manage budgets, including revenue and capital expenditure
  • Oversee procurement and project works
  • Ensure all technical aspects of the contract meet client requirements
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, driving continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and ISO standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Contract Manager or similar role within building maintenance / FM
  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Hands‑on technical background (mechanical and/or electrical)
  • Good understanding of PPM systems and maintenance operations
  • Strong commercial awareness and basic financial knowledge
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Solid IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Desirable

  • Experience with CAFM/PPM systems (e.g. Concept 300 / FSI Go)
  • Relevant technical qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical NVQ / Apprenticeship)
  • IOSH or Health & Safety certification
  • Degree in Building Services or Engineering
