Summary
We are looking for an experienced nurse to join the PERRT (Paediatric Evaluation and Resuscitation Team) as a Sister / Charge Nurse (B7). This role is ideal for nurses with significant background in intensive care and critical care outreach who wish to further develop across the four pillars of advanced practice. You will provide leadership and hands‑on clinical response to deteriorating patients, support staff, and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients under PERRT review, responding to 2222 calls across the site.
- Deliver resuscitation training and reflective learning from events.
- Support junior PERRT colleagues, assess and manage risks, and liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide clinical leadership and a supportive environment for ongoing learning and professional development.
- Engage in quality improvement projects and share best practices within the unit.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) with UK registration.
- Significant experience in intensive care and critical care outreach.
- Evidence of advanced practice competence across the four pillars of the framework.
Training and Development
- Supported to undertake advanced life support courses (adult and paediatric).
- Completedly a level 7 advanced physical assessment module within 6‑12 months.
- Opportunities to pursue an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) at City, University of London.
- Supported by the critical care PERRT medical consultant for non‑medical prescribing.
- Local courses such as MERRT for dental colleagues and enhanced care QiS (level 7) for non‑ICU nursing staff.
