Opportunity

Safety First Group have demonstrated year on year growth, and we are now in the position to expand our busy sales team. The successful candidate will join our team as a Business Development Consultant working within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Objectives

As a Business Development Consultant, you will play an integral role in driving the business forward. The sale of the services is a more solution‑based approach, which means you need to consider the prospect and nurture the relationship. This involves identifying client’s safety requirements, considering clients compliance with regulations, advocating for a culture of safety and promoting necessary solutions. Our multifunctional team consists of professionals who can offer industry training to enhance Health & Safety knowledge.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in business development
  • Health & Safety experience is desirable; candidates with this experience will be considered at the higher end of the salary range
  • Proven ability to deliver against realistic achievement and KPI targets with supporting documents
  • Proficient in using IT including Excel, Microsoft Office, Word and Databases

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Making outgoing customer calls and processing new sales
  • B2B calling prospective and current clients
  • Fact finding and rapport building over the telephone
  • Ensuring new business opportunities are developed
  • End to end sales – including potential to hold virtual client meetings
  • Understanding customer requirements and translating these into appropriate solutions
  • Attending and contributing to weekly team meetings
  • Management of a bespoke CRM and other systems
  • Ability to deliver against realistic achievement and KPI targets
  • Following up business leads and actively selling services
  • Delivering a consultative approach
  • Maintain sales pipelines and maximise conversion
  • Display a positive and professional attitude
  • Upselling added services
  • Accurately and efficiently input customer data into company systems and databases
  • Maintain a working knowledge of services sold
  • Contribute to the team performance by sharing and implementing best practice ideas
  • Report directly to the Sales Director
