The Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading UK main contractor, renowned for delivering high‑profile, complex projects across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare and infrastructure. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, they are seeking an experienced Senior Pre‑Construction Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and securing future projects.
This is a strategic position where you will lead the pre‑construction function on major bids, some in excess of £100m, working closely with clients, consultants and internal delivery teams to develop winning solutions.
The Role
As a Senior Pre-Construction Manager you will:
- Lead and manage the full pre‑construction lifecycle from initial enquiry through to contract award
- Oversee bid strategy, programme development and cost planning in collaboration with estimating teams
- Engage with clients to understand key drivers, ensuring tailored and competitive submissions
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including design, commercial and operational stakeholders
- Drive innovation, value engineering and risk management throughout the bid process
- Mentor and develop junior pre‑construction team members
- Ensure governance, compliance and quality standards are consistently met
About You
- Proven experience in a senior pre‑construction or bid leadership role within a main contractor
- Strong track record of winning and delivering large‑scale projects (£50m – £100m+)
- Excellent commercial awareness and technical understanding of construction methodologies
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to lead, influence and inspire teams in a fast‑paced environment
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field
