About the Role

We are supporting a private equity-backed professional services platform with the appointment of an interim Management Accountant to strengthen the finance team during a period of rapid growth.

The business is executing a buy-and-build strategy, as a result, the finance function is evolving to support a growing, multi-entity structure with increasing reporting and control requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Director and wider finance team, playing a key role in maintaining financial control and supporting integration activities across newly acquired entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Support the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity through robust reconciliation and review processes
  • Assist with the integration of newly acquired businesses into the group reporting framework
  • Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations
  • Provide variance analysis and commentary on financial performance
  • Work closely with operational teams to improve financial visibility and cost control
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and control
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects related to growth, integration, and finance transformation

Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
  • Experience working in a multi-entity or acquisitive environment
  • Background within professional services or a buy-and-build platform is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of month-end processes and balance sheet controls
  • Experience supporting integration of acquired businesses is advantageous
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with finance systems
  • Good stakeholder management skills and ability to work with non-finance teams
  • Available immediately or at short notice
