Control System Engineer (Ignition) – 6 months+ – Remote
We are looking for an Ignition Specialist to support a global customer focused on delivering advanced control system solutions for mission-critical projects. This role leads technical deliverables across design, integration, and commissioning phases, while supporting system architecture decisions, improving engineering standards, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop PLC, SCADA, BMS, and EPMS systems
- Produce and review control system architecture, software designs, and documentation
- Deliver engineering work across multiple projects within scope and deadlines
- Support system integration, testing (FAT/SAT), and commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot, validate, and optimize system performance
- Interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control narratives
- Identify and resolve technical issues and risks
- Contribute to value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as a technical interface between stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company standards
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in controls engineering, automation, or system integration
- Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, BMS, and EPMS platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Ignition)
- Experience in control system design, development, and integration
- Familiarity with FAT, SAT, and commissioning processes
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety
