Job Title: Data Engineer
Office Location: UK – London (Hatton Garden – hybrid; 2 days in office, 3 days remote)
About the Role
Rebura, part of Westcon‑Comstor, is a fast‑growing AWS Consulting Partner dedicated to using AWS technologies to help customers increase productivity, scalability, cost efficiency, and security. We are recruiting a Data Engineer to join our successful Cloud Data Engineering team based in London, supporting customer‑based projects within an AWS cloud environment.
Use your strong experience with SQL and Python (essential) to develop and maintain data models, schemas, and databases. Work within an AWS ecosystem where foundational understanding of AWS services is required and opportunities to grow cloud expertise exist. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes in cloud environments (AWS) to support client business needs.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop solutions that meet technical and business objectives.
- Work with clients to understand data requirements, existing systems and opportunities for modernisation.
- Develop and maintain data models, schemas, databases and data lakes for structured and unstructured data sources.
- Integrate with AI solutions including implementing cutting‑edge architectures such as RAG in SageMaker, as well as building out agentic solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data quality, consistency, and availability in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and trends in cloud computing and data engineering to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications / Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in data engineering, with a preference for building and optimising data pipelines in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, and strong experience with SQL (and optionally NoSQL databases such as Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB).
- Hands‑on experience with cloud data and analytics services and technologies (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow) and orchestration tools such as dbt and SQLMesh.
- Strong understanding of data modelling concepts, data warehousing principles, and distributed computing systems.
- Practical experience in delivering ML/AI use cases.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Self‑learner, keen to take the next step in their career.
- Experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
