Job Title: Road Freight Operator

Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)

My client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Road Freight Operator to join a growing logistics team based in Bristol. This position is ideal for someone with existing road freight experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong customer relationships.
The team is friendly, supportive, and focused on shared success — you’ll be joining a close-knit group within a branch that continues to expand on the back of strong performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a dedicated set of customer accounts.
- Handle all aspects of bookings, including quoting and arranging transport.
- Provide accurate spot quotes and ensure timely follow-up.
- Maintain customer relationships, ensuring a high level of service.
- Process invoices and resolve invoice-related queries.
- Respond to phone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Support the wider operations team as required.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Experience within road freight or transport operations (import/export or domestic).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure.
- Confident using IT systems and handling documentation.
- Reliable, proactive, and eager to learn and take on new tasks.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of customs procedures.
- 2–5 years’ experience in a similar role within freight forwarding or logistics.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
