Our client is a global legal practice operating across 30 offices in 20 countries, seeking an experienced Procurement Manager – HR to join their procurement team in London. Position Overview

This role sits at the heart of our client’s procurement function, executing sourcing strategies that align with firm-wide goals whilst ensuring cost efficiency and regulatory compliance. You’ll partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop category plans informed by market insights, and manage competitive sourcing processes. Your work will directly contribute to the firm’s operational excellence, whilst championing responsible sourcing practices that integrate carbon management, ESG considerations, and diversity and inclusion principles.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sourcing activities in line with the organisation’s sourcing policy and governance frameworks
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate these into procurement strategies
  • Contribute to category plans by providing market insights and competitive analysis across indirect spend categories
  • Draft sourcing approach proposals and manage competitive sourcing processes with suppliers
  • Undertake commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure value and build long-term partnerships
  • Initiate and coordinate supplier due diligence activities to ensure compliance and risk management
  • Support contract lifecycle management from negotiation through to renewal and performance review
  • Maintain accurate sourcing documentation and reporting to support audit and governance requirements
  • Facilitate responsible sourcing strategies, integrating carbon, ESG, and diversity and inclusion considerations
  • Identify and explore process improvements in procurement activities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

  • Significant years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or category management
  • Proven experience sourcing vendors across indirect categories such as HR, learning and development & professional services
  • Strong experience in HR category management specifically
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders to define procurement requirements
  • Experience evaluating supplier proposals and recommending preferred options based on value and fit
  • Track record of building and managing supplier relationships for commercial discussions and continuous improvement
  • CIPS qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Experience in the legal sector is advantageous
