Project Manager – Solar PV (Revamping & Repowering Projects)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead revamping and repowering projects on utility-scale solar farms.

As Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover. You will oversee and coordinate solar PV energy projects, with a focus on revamping, repowering, and complex additional services offered to clients.

This role requires a blend of project management expertise, technical knowledge in solar energy, and a passion for innovative initiatives. You will ensure adherence to budget and schedule, and oversee all aspects of construction to the highest safety and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Promote and maintain a Safety First culture across all project activities
  • Execute project plans across the full lifecycle: proposal, design, feasibility, permitting, installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Lead project teams, manage resources, and ensure timely delivery of milestones
  • Oversee all construction aspects including site preparation, civil works, electrical installation, and commissioning
  • Manage construction personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure strong collaboration and performance
  • Identify and mitigate risks, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Manage project budgets and track cost variances
  • Maintain accurate project documentation (reports, schedules, risk assessments)
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders including investors, landowners, regulatory bodies, and communities
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards
  • Stay up to date with solar technology advancements and construction best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ Project Management experience
  • 3+ years managing large construction projects
  • Technical understanding of Solar PV systems, industry trends, and innovations
  • Strong commercial awareness, including contract and financial oversight
  • Proactive leadership and ability to drive project momentum
  • Proficiency in MS Office and document control systems
  • Experience managing multiple projects of varying complexity
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Professional and client-facing communication skills
  • Experience with project controls (planning, reporting, risk & issue management, change control)
  • Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work under pressure

Note: The role requires travel to project sites as needed.

Reporting line: Head of Construction

Desirable Skills

  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Renewable Energy, or related field
  • Health & Safety certification (e.g., SMSTS)
