Composite Manufacturing Engineer – Graduate / Postgraduate

Are you a recent Engineering graduate or postgraduate with a Master’s or PhD in Composite Materials, ideally with some industry experience? Do you want to help shape the next generation of advanced composite technologies in a high-profile aerospace environment?

We are looking for a Composite Manufacturing Engineer to join an innovative engineering team on a new project. In this role, you will play a key part in the development and evolution of composite materials and manufacturing processes for cutting-edge aerospace applications.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the development of next-generation composite materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • Working with a range of advanced aerospace composite parts, improving assembly processes and adopting a Zero Defects philosophy.
  • Creating clear work instructions and optimising processes from lamination to assembly.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders on New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Applying data-driven problem-solving techniques such as 8D and 5 Whys to manufacturing challenges.

What we’re looking for:

  • MSc or PhD in Composite Materials or a related engineering discipline.
  • Ideally 1 year of industrial experience, preferably in composites manufacturing or aerospace.
  • Knowledge of composite processing techniques such as prepreg, RTM, and autoclave processes.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to drive activities through to completion.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a high-performing operations team.
