You’ve probably reached the point where you can feel it.
You’re capable of running the room.
You’ve got the taste. The judgement. The pace.
But you’re still working through layers – sign-off chains, diluted decisions, and a role that’s smaller than your capability.
This is for the designer who wants full ownership.
A design-led, award-winning Central London studio is hiring a Senior / Associate Interior Designer to lead workplace projects end-to-end – from pitching and concept narrative through to delivery and team leadership – with real client exposure and autonomy.
Not Design & Build churn.
Not “fit-out by spreadsheet.”
Design-led workplace, with time to do it properly.
What Makes This Different.
- Client ownership, not client proximity: You’ll lead meetings, present, steer decisions and build relationships – without having to funnel everything through someone else.
- Design time: Longer programmes than D&B. More craft. Better outcomes. The details matter here.
- Autonomy with trust: You won’t be micromanaged. You’ll be trusted – and rewarded with more.
- Progression: This studio doesn’t gate growth by “years qualified.” If you perform, you progress.
- Competitive bonus structure: Two bonuses totalling approx. 10% annually.
- Optional future pathway: For those who want it, there’s a wider ecosystem around the studio where some designers have later chosen to pivot closer to delivery and higher earning potential. Not required – but proven.
The Work.
Design-led workplace interiors, often in characterful existing buildings and retrofit contexts – projects where narrative, materiality and experience matter as much as programme and budget.
You’ll typically be responsible for:
- Leading projects through concept, DD, technical/delivery, and completion
- Running consultant coordination and keeping programmes tight
- Owning client relationships, presentations and key decision-making
- Producing/overseeing drawing packages and design documentation
- Mentoring junior designers (line management can be taught if needed)
- Contributing to pitches and work-winning if of interest
Who This Will Suit.
You’re likely:
- A Senior Interior Designer / Associate (or ready to step into Associate-level ownership) – Interior Architects will also be considered
- Strong in workplace interiors (brand-led offices, flex workspace, HQ, commercial retrofit)
- A confident project runner who can hold the room with clients and consultants
- Revit proficient on live projects (non-negotiable)
- Design-led, commercially aware, and comfortable taking responsibility
Package.
- Up to £55,000 base + bonus (two bonuses totalling ~10%) + benefits
- Additional upside for high performers who materially support growth / client development
- Office-led, but flexibility is available when needed (outcomes-first)
How To Apply.
Apply via Grõ Careers with your CV. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to share a portfolio.
If you’re ready to step out from behind the layers and take full ownership, this is a rare platform to do it.
