Talent Acquisition Manager (12-month FTC)
Reports to: People Director
Working pattern: Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office based in Milton Keynes (30 mins train ride from London Euston).

The role
Our client is looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager to help build the organisation and keep People operations running smoothly.
This is a broad, hands-on role spanning both hiring and people processes – from sourcing and interviewing through to onboarding, systems, and wider people initiatives.
You’ll report into the People Director and play a key role in shaping both the team and the experience people have when they join.
Key Responsibilities & Priorities:
Talent Acquisition (70%)
- Design and build the careers site to accurately reflect the business and their values, and attract the right people
- Partner with hiring managers to find and bring in great talent
- Source and interview candidates
- Communicate with candidates, to create a great candidate experience
- Build strong relationships with external recruiters, helping them to represent the business well and find the right people
People Operations (20%)
- Create smooth, welcoming onboarding and thoughtful offboarding experiences that leave people feeling supported at every step
- Support meaningful moments in the employee journey, from probation check-ins to parental leave and role changes
- Keep the People systems (like HiBob and Teamtailor) organised and up to date so everything runs smoothly behind the scenes
- Look for simple, smart ways to improve ways of working, whether through automation, AI, or better processes
People projects (10%)
- Support initiatives that strengthen the culture and make it a great place to work, such as engagement surveys, performance reviews, employee handbook etc.
What success looks like
Our client is looking for someone who can help build a great people experience. This role is a blend of Talent Acquisition and People Operations. You’ll help grow the team, keep People processes running smoothly, and ensure culture and values are embedded in the everyday. Must have skills:
- End-to-end recruitment across multiple functions (in-house environment)
- A natural people person – You communicate with empathy, clarity, and confidence
- Detail-focused with a creative touch – You care about getting things right and making them easy to understand
- Organised and proactive – You don’t mind admin, love a good plan, and keep things moving without needing to be asked
- A thoughtful problem solver – You spot what needs attention, think ahead, and look for simple, effective ways to make things better
Nice to have skills:
- Experience from fast-paced, people-centric businesses
- People operations experience – You understand the employee journey end-to-end, from policies and payroll to performance and development
- Confident with systems and tools – You’re comfortable using platforms like HiBob and the Microsoft suite, and enjoy finding smarter ways to work through automation, templates
- You have a good working knowledge of UK employment law and can spot risks
