The firm is well known for advising a diverse client base including investors, developers, lenders, occupiers, local authorities and charitable organisations. With a strong regional and national presence, the business is recognised for delivering high-quality, commercially focused legal advice within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Role Summary:

You will join a busy and established Real Estate team based in Reading, working closely with colleagues across multiple offices including London, Southampton, Oxford and Cardiff. The role offers a varied and high-quality caseload spanning both public and private sector work, supporting prestigious clients on complex, high-value property transactions. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of matters while also working collaboratively with senior lawyers, with a clear focus on developing both technical expertise and business development skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial property documents including leases, licences, contracts, transfers and deeds: delivering accurate and commercially sound outcomes for clients
  • Undertaking due diligence including title review, search analysis and reporting: ensuring clients are fully informed on risk and opportunity
  • Managing elements of transactions independently or alongside senior fee earners: building autonomy and confidence on complex matters
  • Liaising directly with clients, counterparties and stakeholders: maintaining strong relationships and smooth transaction progression
  • Supporting indemnity insurance arrangements and liaising with brokers/underwriters: ensuring transactional issues are efficiently resolved
  • Conducting legal research and contributing to matter strategy: strengthening technical expertise and commercial judgement
  • Participating in client meetings and business development activity: developing visibility and long-term client relationships

Requirements:

  • Experience in commercial property law gained within a leading regional or national firm
  • Strong background in transactional real estate work, including leases and development matters
  • Exposure to property development and/or property finance work would be highly desirable
  • Confident technical ability with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly
  • Commercial mindset with a client-focused approach
  • Strong team player who is adaptable, resilient and proactive
