Construction Contracts/Commercial Manager – Battery Energy Storage (BESS)

OXBO are exclusively supporting a growing developer in the UK renewable energy sector in the search for a Construction Contracts/Commercial Manager to join their delivery team.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a foundational role, building and shaping the commercial function from the ground up, while working across a strong pipeline of grid-scale battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
The Opportunity
You’ll play a key role in the commercial delivery of multiple UK projects, including:s everal large-scale BESS developments across Scotland, as well as additional projects across the rest of the UK
Projects range in size up to ~100MW+, working alongside leading EPC contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial negotiations across EPC and O&M contracts (primarily FIDIC Yellow Book)
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with EPC contractors and stakeholders
- Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, and financial reporting
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
- Establish and implement commercial processes and frameworks across the business
About You
- Approx. 5+ years’ experience within energy infrastructure (BESS strongly preferred, but wider renewables considered)
- Strong experience with contract negotiation and management (FIDIC knowledge highly advantageous)
- Commercially astute with the ability to operate in a hands-on, evolving environment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
