We are confidentially recruiting for a high-impact Buying Manager on behalf of a highly successful, established client in the Wholesale/Distribution sector.

This position is crucial for maximising commercial returns across a key product category. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive category plan that leverages the business’s significant scale.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Maximise revenue and profit margins through strategic seasonal planning and competitive promotional execution.
  • Lead high-value supplier negotiations to drive cost reductions while maintaining premium product quality.
  • Curate and optimise product lifecycles, from initial sourcing and selection to strategic range exits.
  • Monitor retail trends and competitor moves to keep product offerings relevant and ahead of the curve.
  • Forecast demand and manage cross-functional logistics to ensure 100% product availability and service levels.

What We’re Looking For:

To be successful in this position, you must be a driven, self-motivated professional with proven success in a commercial trading environment:

  • Demonstrable working knowledge and successful category management experience within the Wholesale, Retail, or FMCG (Food/Drink) sector.
  • Outstanding negotiation and communication skills with a track record of delivering superior commercial deals.
  • A strong ability to take full ownership of a category, ensuring your commercial endeavours align perfectly with company goals.
  • Experience successfully influencing and collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
