Are you ready to lead a team of talented engineers and shape the future of energy infrastructure?Due to a period of exciting growth we’re looking for an ambitious energy storage focused Senior Engineer to join our UK Transmission and Distribution (T&D) business. Our T&D team delivers HV design for electrical power projects at transmission and distribution voltage levels. The focus of this role is renewables and energy storage, grid connections, and private networks at voltage levels normally between 11kV to 400kV. Typical projects include feasibility, optioneering, FEED, detailed design and design assurance on existing or new build renewable generation, including pumped storage hydro, PV and wind – typically with collocated Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).Here’s what you’ll do:Have the opportunity to work on large projects and frameworks with renewable energy generation developers, mostly in UK and Ireland but also with some global projectsUndertake Front End Engineering Design (FEED), design for planning, feasibility studies etc. of energy storage systems including associated grid connections, control and meteringWork with Internal AECOM clients delivering large renewable generation or private wire projectsProvide some support and gain exposure to bidding, project and quality managementEnjoy the Perks. Suitable experience as FEED designer, detailed design or owner’s engineer roleA good understanding of both renewable generation and energy storage technology in general and, in particular, battery storage technology of all types and chemistriesExperience designing the HV grid connection, metering, control requirements etc. associated with battery storage installations, including BESS collocated with renewable energy generationKnowledge of grid connection requirements for renewable generation and energy storage, including G59, G99 etc.Good understanding of electrical plant items and control systems such as transformers, cables, circuit breakers, HV Protection & ControlGood team player with a client-focused mindset and customer facing skillsAbility to work flexibly across multiple projectsHere’s what we’re ideally looking for:…
