Head of Development Management & Major Projects needed in Bournemouth Paying £570.33 per day ref 5289910
Full time hours on a temporarybasis
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Development Management and Enforcement functions, including complex and strategic planning applications from submission through determination and delivery
- Oversee major development projects of strategic and regional importance
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with development, regeneration, and delivery partners at local, regional, and national levels
- Ensure local communities’ needs, concerns, and expectations are understood and fairly represented within the planning process
- Lead service planning, performance management, budget control, and continuous improvement activity
- Manage and report Section 106 contributions, including collection and expenditure
- Lead the preparation, implementation, monitoring, and review of development management policies and wider planning strategies
- Ensure effective coordination with building control and other related disciplines
- Represent the Planning Service at committees, stakeholder forums, and external working groups
- Champion social value, sustainability, and high‑quality place‑making
- Create a positive learning environment through delegation, mentoring, coaching, and development of staff
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and procedural requirements
