Role Purpose / Summary
This Director is the technical, hands‑on execution lead for the Professional (Salon) business across Wella and ghd. The leader stands up and runs cross‑functional growth squads, lands lighthouse use cases, operationalizes experimentation (A/B, MVT, incrementality), and scales platform capabilities (CDP, personalization, CRM, retail media, commerce, content/GenAI) to deliver measurable revenue, conversion, retention, and LTV gains across regions. The role ensures privacy‑by‑design and alignment with enterprise governance (Growth Council, Architecture Review Board, Experimentation Guild) while turning Pro commercial goals into shipped journeys, features, and continuous performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1) Launch & Run Pro Growth Squads
- Stand up and operationalize Salon Pro Enablement and adjacent squads (Acquisition & Media, CRM & Loyalty, eCommerce Growth, Content & Creator, Innovation) with clear OKRs tied to CMO/CFO revenue outcomes; staff squads across Product, Eng, DS/ML, UXR, and Marketing/Commercial.
- Deliver and scale lighthouse journeys for Pro (e.g., salon education‑to‑purchase, distributor integrations, booking/education) and DTC/eRetail conversion packs; drive week‑over‑week performance improvements.
- Embed A/B, MVT, incrementality testing and causal measurement across media, CRM, content, pricing/promo; partner with Measurement and Data & AI to implement standardized MMM/MTA and readouts that guide budget shifts.
4) Activate Platform Capabilities for Pro
- Build with platform owners to deploy CDP, journeys, personalization, server‑side tagging, attribution, commerce UX optimization, retail media enablement, and the GenAI content factory for Pro brands/markets; ensure markets configure not rebuild.
5) Regionalization & Field Enablement
- Translate global capabilities into regional execution for Wella/ghd Pro—partner with markets to localize journeys, content, offers, and salon programs within global guardrails and shared platforms.
- Execute the near‑term plan: server‑side tagging, consent hardening, experimentation launch, CDP quick wins (high‑intent triggers), CRO pack and CRM uplift; progress to industrialized MMM/incrementality and retail media tech rollout.
- Represent Pro needs in the Growth Council, ARB, Experimentation Guild; enforce privacy/consent, brand safety, AI guardrails, and security standards across all shipped work.
8) ghd Alignment & KPI Rigor
- Integrate with ghd delivery/ops and data roadmaps; align on KPI frameworks, MTTD/MTTR, release quality, and analytics modernization to ensure consistent measurement and performance across Wella + ghd.
Experience & Background
- 8+ years in growth engineering, marketing technology, or digital product roles with direct ownership of experimentation, analytics, and commerce/CRM capabilities for complex omnichannel businesses.
- Demonstrated success leading hands‑on squads to ship measurable outcomes across eCommerce/eRetail ecosystems.
- Proven integration with Data & AI platforms (lakehouse, MLOps, feature stores) and MarTech stacks (CDP, journey orchestration, consent/tagging), with privacy‑by‑design track record.
Technical Skills (Hands‑On)
- Experimentation platforms (feature flags, A/B/MVT, holdouts), analytics/attribution (MMM/MTA), and server‑side tagging; proficiency in SQL/Python or equivalent for analysis and prototyping.
- Commerce & CRM stack knowhow (DTC storefronts, promo/offer engines, subscriptions, loyalty) and CDP/personalization activation.
- Content/GenAI factory workflows, DAM/PIM, dynamic creative optimization, and performance feedback loops.
Leadership & Ways of Working
- Player/coach who rolls up sleeves—able to spec, prototype, test, and ship while scaling team capability.
- Strong backlog/OKR discipline, with comfort presenting in governance forums and QBRs; able to influence budget shifts using measured ROI..
Success Measures
- Revenue & Growth: CVR uplift, CRM revenue/LTV, ROAS for retail media, and salon program sell‑through; quarterly readouts suitable for CFO‑grade decisioning.
- Experimentation: Volume, cadence, and win‑rate of A/B/MVT; % budget influenced by incrementality/MMM‑based evidence.
- Platform Adoption & Quality: Activated journeys/audiences, server‑side tagging coverage, performance KPIs (TTFB, CLS, LCP), uptime and SLA adherence.
- Regional Scale: % of markets live on global capabilities with configure‑don’t‑rebuild compliance.
- Governance & Compliance: Evidence of ARB/Growth Council decisions landed; privacy, consent, and AI guardrail adherence.
