Equans Data Centers is seeking to appoint an experienced site based Project Director, supporting the continued growth of our data centre operations across the UK.
As part of our commitment to delivering innovative and high‑performance solutions for our clients’ data centre facilities, we are looking for a dynamic leader to oversee project execution at key site locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery, ensuring alignment with agreed budgets, revenue targets and profitability objectives.
What you will deliver?
- Manage the successful delivery of the project, ensuring alignment with agreed quality standards, commercial objectives, timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Contribute to bid development activities in collaboration with the Business Development team, ensuring competitive, profitable and strategically aligned proposals that meet turnover and margin targets.
- Provide the appropriate Health and Safety leadership ensuring that safety remains a visible and integral part of all project‑related activities.
- Provide leadership for the project delivery team within the project in line with company standards and values working to maximise the potential of the team and the individuals within them.
- Ensure that all operational activities are carried out in compliance with internal regulations and external legislation governing business operations.
- Provide input in the preparation of the business plans and budgets based on the initial contract parameters and objectives, maintaining overall control for successful budgeting against agreed plans which maximises profit opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through the consistent and efficient execution of projects with a focus on long‑term partnership and repeat business opportunities. Act as a company ambassador, upholding the highest standards in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?
- Proven experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
- Degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Construction, or a related discipline.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing high‑performing teams.
- Results driven with financial management and cost control expertise.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach to Health and Safety with a strong understanding of best practices.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work.
- Innovative and able to identify and implement new ways to do things to achieve better ways of working.
- Experience in cost control and budget management.
- MCIOB or similar chartership is desirable.
- Sound knowledge of UK building regulations.
- Thorough understanding of UK Health & Safety construction laws.
