Head of Computing
We are seeking a passionate and talented Head of Computing to report to the Director of Digital Strategy & Head of Innovation Faculty of Innovation.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will lead the GCSE and A‑Level Computer Science curriculum, support the development of Computing/Computer Science, and play a key role in expanding the school’s Innovation Hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the GCSE and A‑Level Computer Science programmes.
- Teach and develop curriculum aligned with the Edexcel (GCSE) and OCR (A‑Level) specifications.
- Develop and support the Innovation Hub, including CAD machinery, robotics, web design, game design and Esports projects.
- Provide leadership in teaching hours and maintain presence at school from 08:00 am to 16:00 pm, with additional hours as required.
- Collaborate with the Innovation Faculty and Digital Strategy team to align teaching with broader school objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient Python programming skills to meet GCSE curriculum requirements.
- Experience or strong interest in CAD, robotics, web design, game design or Esports.
- Teaching experience and a proven commitment to diversity and inclusion in STEM.
Working Conditions
Full‑time, permanent role with a six‑month probationary period. Start date: 1 September 2026. Salary: competitive based on skills and knowledge.
