Head of Finance

The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading the finance function, ensuring robust financial management, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. The role requires a strong balance of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and hands‑on capability.

This is a hands‑on role that requires strong technical accounting knowledge, systems expertise, and a proven ability to improve processes and reporting capabilities in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the finance function, including financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to support business growth.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and reporting.
• Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management information to support commercial decision‑making.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight, analysis, and strategic support.
• Manage audit, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Oversee and develop finance systems to support automation, accuracy, and scalability.
• Build and develop a high‑performing finance team.

Key Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with approximately 5–10 years’ post‑qualification experience.
• Prior experience in a similar senior finance role, ideally within a high‑growth or financial services environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on levels.
• Proven track record of improving financial processes, reporting, and controls.
• Systems‑savvy, with demonstrable experience implementing or optimising finance systems and reporting tools.
• Commercially minded with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
