Role Description
The Head of Façade Access is responsible for the strategic leadership, growth, and delivery of D2E’s façade access design consultancy services. The role combines technical leadership, team management, business development and financial accountability to ensure façade access services are delivered to the highest standards while supporting the profitable growth of the business.
The role will lead the development of façade access design strategies, oversee project delivery, grow client relationships, and develop the façade access team, positioning D2E as a market leader in façade access consultancy in the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and shape the growth of the façade access consultancy offering, aligning it with overall business strategy. This includes driving innovation, improving technical capability, enhancing market position, and acting as the senior technical authority while contributing to wider leadership initiatives.
- People Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, supporting recruitment, performance management, and professional growth. You will foster a collaborative, high-performance culture and act as a senior role model within the business.
- Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of façade access consultancy services to ensure quality, compliance, and client satisfaction. You will drive continuous improvement in processes, support digital and BIM integration, and collaborate across teams to enhance service delivery.
- Design: Act as the lead façade access consultant on complex projects, overseeing design strategies across all stages. You will review technical outputs, ensure compliance and practicality of solutions, and provide expert advice to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Business Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders, while identifying and securing new opportunities. You will lead proposals and tenders, support marketing initiatives, and actively promote the company’s façade access expertise in the market.
- Financial Management: Take ownership of the financial performance of the façade access service line, supporting revenue growth and profitability. This includes monitoring project performance, managing utilisation, and contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Cross Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as Working at Height, Asset Management, and Business Development to share expertise, strengthen technical capability, and support wider business growth.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Strong business development experience, with ability to build client relationships and secure new work.
- Excellent technical knowledge of façade access systems and relevant UK legislation, standards, and best practice.
- Demonstrated ability to lead façade access design strategy and review technical outputs including reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong commercial awareness, including understanding of project profitability and service line performance.
- Relevant engineering or technical degree, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to operate effectively at senior client and leadership level.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, including managing, mentoring, and developing technical teams.
