Fire Safety Business Unit Growing Division
A leading specialist services group is seeking a Head of Fire Safety to take full ownership of its established and fast-growing Fire Safety business unit. With a current turnover of around £2m, the division has strong foundations, a clear growth plan, and an experienced team already in place — and now requires a strategic, commercially minded leader to take the function to the next level.
The Opportunity
This is a pivotal, hands‑on leadership role with responsibility for the commercial performance, operational delivery, and technical governance of the Fire Safety division. You’ll oversee two managers and their teams, ensure all projects are compliant and profitable, and act as the senior technical authority for fire safety matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, shape, and grow the Fire Safety business unit, driving performance and margin improvements.
- Scope, estimate, and price work across a range of fire safety services.
- Manage the end-to-end process from project initiation through to invoicing and payment, ensuring strong commercial controls.
- Provide senior technical oversight, ensuring all work meets the required standards and regulations.
- Act as the final sign‑off authority for reports and outputs, leveraging your recognised fire safety qualifications.
- Mentor and develop the existing management team (two managers) and support the evolution of the wider team.
- Support future strategy, service development, and continued growth of the division.
About You
To succeed, you will be a confident and credible fire safety professional with both technical depth and strong commercial instincts. You will bring:
- Recognised Fire Safety qualifications enabling you to sign off fire safety work.
- Experience leading fire safety operations, consultancy, or compliance services.
- Strong commercial understanding, including pricing work and managing revenue cycles.
- Proven ability to manage teams and drive performance within a growing business.
