Senior Site Manager – N1/N2 Headhouse Project
Balfour Beatty is a leading international infrastructure group delivering complex and high‑profile projects across the UK. We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead delivery on the N1/N2 Headhouse Project in Birmingham, a key component of the HS2 programme.
Responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day site operations and manage delivery teams.
- Ensure all works are carried out safely, meeting health, safety and environmental standards.
- Drive programme performance and ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Manage subcontractors, including coordination, performance and compliance.
- Oversee quality assurance and ensure works meet specification requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, commercial and planning teams.
- Produce and review method statements, risk assessments and construction phase plans.
- Report progress, risks and issues to senior project stakeholders.
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across the site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager or Site Manager on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
- Strong background in heavy civils, structures or reinforced concrete works.
- Demonstrable experience managing large teams and multiple subcontractors.
- In‑depth knowledge of UK construction health and safety legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage complex interfaces and deliver under pressure.
- SMSTS (essential).
- CSCS card (essential).
