The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a range of construction projects across the Highlands and Moray. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering projects across commercial, residential, and public sector developments.
As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will play a key role in coordinating all site activities, acting as the main point of contact on site, and ensuring effective communication between subcontractors, clients, and the wider project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage site operations from pre-construction through to handover
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee subcontractors, trades, and direct labour
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, carrying out inductions, toolbox talks, and site inspections
- Monitor progress against programme and proactively address any delays or issues
- Coordinate materials, plant, and logistics to maintain workflow
- Maintain accurate site records including RAMS, ITPs, site diaries, and progress reports
- Lead and attend site meetings, providing updates to clients and senior management
- Ensure works are completed to required quality standards and specifications
- Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, and engineers to ensure smooth project delivery
- Support commercial teams with variations, valuations, and cost control where required
About You
- Proven experience working as a Site Manager within the construction industry
- Strong track record delivering new build and/or refurbishment projects
- Experience managing projects within sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial, or residential
- Excellent understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and site logistics
- Confident managing multiple trades and subcontractors on site
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with attention to detail
Qualifications & Certifications
- SMSTS (essential)
- CSCS Card – Black or Gold (preferred)
- First Aid (essential)
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor (desirable)
- Asbestos Awareness (desirable)
