Are you an experienced finance leader ready to shape the financial future of one of London’s most ambitious councils? Redbridge Council is seeking a Head of Business Partnering to lead a team of skilled finance professionals delivering a robust and forward-thinking financial management and business partnering service across the organisation.
Working as part of our senior finance leadership team, you’ll be a trusted adviser to Cabinet Members, Corporate and Operational Directors. You’ll provide strategic financial insight, challenge plans, drive sustainability, and embed a culture of high-quality decision-making rooted in transparency, commercial awareness, and long-term viability.
What you’ll do
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance partnering team, ensuring services across the Council are supported with expert advice and clear financial insight.
- Support and challenge business strategies to enhance financial sustainability and efficiency.
- Deliver strong financial leadership through effective business partnering, analysis, and long-term financial planning.
- Drive improvements in reporting quality, performance analysis, forecasting, and budget management.
- Offer critical guidance on policy changes, opportunities, risks, and legislative updates impacting financial performance.
- Champion transformational change and continuous improvement across all services.
- Provide comprehensive training to enhance financial awareness and self-service capability across directorates.
About you
You’ll be a qualified accountant with a proven track record of leading finance teams in complex organisations — ideally within the public sector. With the ability to influence senior stakeholders, you’ll bring commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the confidence to challenge constructively.
