Salary: Up to £60,000 + attractive package

We are working with a leading regional main contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Site Manager to join their growing operational team based in Wolverhampton. This is an excellent opportunity to take a key leadership role on high-quality construction projects while working within a business that values delivery, teamwork, and long-term career development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day site operations on main contracting projects across the Wolverhampton region, typically valued from £5m to £20m+, across a diverse portfolio including education, healthcare, commercial, and public sector schemes.

This role offers strong career progression into Project Management, ongoing training and development, and regular salary reviews within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As Senior Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of construction projects from site establishment through to completion. You will play a key role in driving site performance, managing subcontractors, and ensuring all works are delivered to programme and specification.

  • Day-to-day management of site operations on main contracting projects
  • Leading site teams, subcontractors, and direct labour where applicable
  • Ensuring strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures
  • Managing site programmes, logistics, and short-term planning
  • Monitoring quality of works and ensuring defect-free deliveryCoordinating site meetings and liaising with Project Managers, clients, and consultants
  • Ensuring materials, resources, and subcontractors are efficiently managed
  • Supporting project delivery to meet cost, programme, and quality targets
  • Maintaining accurate site records, reporting, and progress updates
  • Promoting a positive site culture focused on safety, quality, and performance

About You

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager within a main contracting environment
  • Experience delivering projects in the £5m-£20m+ range
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent understanding of construction methods and sequencing
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and site compliance
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (essential)
  • Organised, proactive, and confident in decision-making
  • Ambitious and keen to progress into Project Management in the future
