TXM Recruit are supporting a well-established engineering business in the search for a Head of Programmes to lead and deliver complex, cross-functional projects.
This is a senior leadership role, responsible for ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. You will play a key role in driving project excellence, improving processes, and leading high-performing teams within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define programme and project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with business goals
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource strategies
- Lead and coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless delivery
- Oversee day-to-day programme activities, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
- Provide clear and consistent communication to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Monitor performance using appropriate project management tools and methodologies
- Conduct post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with company processes, policies, and industry best practices
- Drive improvements in existing processes to enhance efficiency and delivery
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
- Experience using tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira, or Trello
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem-solving ability with a hands‑on approach
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field
- 5+ years' experience in project or programme management
- Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or AgileKey Competencies
- Strong leadership and decision‑making ability
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Effective risk identification and mitigation
- Strong financial and budget management capability
- Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Adaptability within a dynamic and evolving environment
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
