Job Description:

The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford, Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of heavy civil construction, mining and environmental services within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA Lead to oversee quality assurance activities for our ERP systems and related enterprise applications, based out of Bedford, NS.

Job Summary

The QA Lead is a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of core business processes, including Finance, Payroll, Supply Chain, and Operations. The QA Lead will drive testing strategy, lead QA initiatives, and collaborate with ERP, IT, and business teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage QA activities across ERP systems, modules, and integrated applications
  • Define and implement QA strategies, standards, and governance frameworks
  • Oversee test planning, execution, regression testing, and release validation using Zephyr
  • Perform and supervise end-to-end testing of ERP processes
  • Validate data accuracy and integrity through SQL queries and backend analysis
  • Lead testing of system integrations, including APIs, SFTP, and third-party platforms
  • Support ERP implementations, upgrades, patches, and data migration activities
  • Manage defect lifecycle using JIRA, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis
  • Utilize JIRA Service Management (JSM) for incident tracking, service requests, and cross-team coordination
  • Collaborate with developers, ERP analysts, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements and quality expectations
  • Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, and impact analysis
  • Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users
  • Monitor and report on QA metrics, including defect trends, test coverage, and release readiness
  • Drive continuous improvement, including test automation and QA process optimization
  • Mentor QA team members and promote a quality-first culture

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in QA/testing, including leadership responsibilities
  • Strong experience with ERP systems or enterprise applications
  • Solid understanding of ERP modules (Payroll, AP, AR, Inventory, Job Costing)
  • Hands-on experience with SQL for data validation and troubleshooting
  • Experience with system integrations (APIs, SFTP, data exchange)
  • Practical experience with: JIRA, Jira Service Management and Zephyr
  • Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with test automation and API testing tools
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Experience with ERP implementations, upgrades, or data migrations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
