Your role

As a Senior/Associate Project Planner, you will work across our Project Delivery Practice and collaborate with Project Managers and Project Directors to control and manage design activities on multi‑disciplinary commissions for complex infrastructure projects in our markets.

  • Develop and implement high‑quality planning and scheduling standards to inform Project Managers.
  • Produce detailed logic‑linked/resource‑loaded project plans in Primavera P6.
  • Ensure integration of project control procedures into the project delivery process.
  • Provide expert advice, including weekly or monthly schedule updates.
  • Produce monthly planning reports, resource updates and projections.
  • Produce ad‑hoc reports informing the Project Manager of significant schedule impacts and their effect on progress and completion.
  • Control change and manage an effective change‑control process, including claims.
  • Prepare information and attend regular planning and progress meetings.
  • Monitor and report performance against programme, technical quality, financial and KPI targets and take mitigation actions to prevent targets being missed.
  • Identify, escalation, and manage any matters that could pose a contractual/commercial risk such as project deviations, slippage reports, opportunities, and mitigations.
  • Lead and aid in development of the team of planners.

About You

  • Experienced Engineering Professional with a recognised degree, diploma or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
  • Expert user of Primavera P6 (and ideally MS Project) with proven years of experience in planning and scheduling.
  • Proficient in Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Experience with schedule, risk and cost analysis.
  • Proficient in NEC‑type contracts and in applying the contract clauses.
  • Confident and professional manner with excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues, to ensure clarity and effectively influence.
  • Analytical thinker able to show initiative and creativity; skilled at collaborating and building relationships across wider teams; good report writing and presentation skills.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, with proven ability to deliver to deadlines.
