Job Description
We’re looking for a talented and dynamic Senior Manager within Accounting, to join an ambitious and rapidly growing team in Edinburgh, Scotland. You will use your expertise to manage a portfolio of accounts, offering a high‑touch service to clients, whilst managing and developing a team of 8–10 members of staff. This permanent role is based at our Edinburgh office, with the option of hybrid working. During the initial period you will be based in the office full time, getting to know your clients and colleagues.
What you will be doing
As a Senior Manager your responsibilities will include among others:
- Assisting Partners with managing their client portfolios
- Ensuring client expectations are exceeded by providing a first‑class service at all times, whilst maintaining open and proactive communication
- Proactive job management; identify issues, develop and present solutions to clients and partners
- Contributing to effective management of resources across the department
- Monitoring workload, managing work‑in‑progress and billing across your portfolio
- Identifying future opportunities within your portfolio and beyond, assisting partners with business development
- Building a team spirit that encourages collaboration; taking ownership of coaching junior managers and taking responsibility for the ADR process
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA) or international equivalent
- Experience of working with entrepreneurial, OMB and SME clients and ability to develop trusted adviser status with clients
- Demonstrable working knowledge of accounting standards and their application
- Experience of (and appetite for) business development activities, such as preparation of proposal documents, and working knowledge of accounting standards
- Strong organisational skills to ensure the needs of clients, Partners and staff are all met
- Flexible, adaptable and with a committed attitude

- Experience working across different service lines to deliver a joined‑up service to clients
- Comfortable managing multiple competing engagements, workflows, and timeframes, and working under pressure to meet deadlines
- A good trainer and mentor, able to motivate and inspire colleagues; enabling other team members to achieve their maximum potential
