The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate, Investment Operations to join our Public Markets Middle Office team in London. This role plays a critical part in supporting investment activity across global public markets and acting as a subject‑matter expert (SME) within Operations.
The Investment Operations Team provides end‑to‑end pre‑ and post‑trade support across asset classes, working closely with Portfolio Managers, Trading teams, and strategic external vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and controlled execution of all trade activity.
This is an excellent opportunity for a high‑performing middle office professional with strong derivatives exposure who enjoys operating in a fast‑paced, buy‑side environment and contributing to the ongoing growth and sophistication of a global investment function.
Your new role:
Operational & Technical Leadership
- Act as a subject matter expert across Public Markets, supporting the trading and lifecycle management of Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Exchange‑Traded and OTC Derivatives.
- Partner with Investments and Trading teams to enable the launch and operationalisation of new products, asset classes, and markets.
- Provide day‑to‑day operational support across the full trade lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and control.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with global Investment Operations teams, internal stakeholders, and external service providers.
- Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members, helping resolve issues and uplift operational capability.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Change, Improvement & Growth
- Identify efficiency and improvement opportunities within Investment Operations and partner with leadership to implement sustainable solutions.
- Lead and coordinate analysis required to operationalise new asset types and trade flows.
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance member outcomes, including cost efficiencies and improved go‑to‑market execution.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational best practice.
Risk, Governance & Compliance
- Ensure all activities are managed in line with the Fund’s Risk Management Framework, including risk identification, incident management, and reporting.
- Maintain strong controls across processes, policies, and systems, contributing to a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong experience in the investment / fund management industry, ideally within a buy‑side or asset management environment.
- Proven middle office experience across Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and Derivatives (exchange‑traded and OTC).
- Solid understanding of investment operations, custodians, fund administration, and end‑to‑end trade lifecycle processing.
- Excellent communication and analytical experience.
- Experience working with portfolio management systems; Aladdin experience highly regarded!
- Exposure to project or change initiatives within an operations environment.
Position based at London King’s Cross Estate on a hybrid work schedule. Working hours are flexible to accommodate multiple time zones.
