Mobile Forklift Engineer
Essex - Braintree (Covering UK)
£36,000 - £40,000 + Overtime
07:30 AM - 05:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Mobile Forklift Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys working independently in a field-based role, with excellent earning potential and long-term career stability.

Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and overhaul forklifts and material handling equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults on gas, diesel, and electric trucks
- Carry out routine maintenance (brakes, steering, lift assemblies, oil/filter changes)
- Perform preventative maintenance, including lubrication and adjustments
- Test and maintain batteries (fluid levels, voltage checks, hydrometer readings)
- Attend breakdowns and carry out timely repairs to minimise downtime
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Work on key components including hydraulics, lift chains, brakes, and steering systems
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, diesel/LPG engines, and hydraulics
- Build strong customer relationships while ensuring all work meets safety and manufacturer standards
What we're looking for
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Previous experience working on forklifts or material handling equipment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills (mechanical & electrical)
- Background in HGV, plant, construction, agricultural, automotive, REME, or similar
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a field-based role
- Confident handling breakdowns and working under pressure
- Solid electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge
