About The Company
At VEED, our mission is to make video creation accessible to anyone. No hard‑to‑use equipment, painful learning curve, or multiple subscriptions are needed to take your ideas from record to share. With VEED, you can do this with a single tool. In just a few years, we’ve gone from one user to millions. From no revenue to $45M+ ARR. From bootstrapped to backed by Sequoia, one of the biggest VC firms in the world. From a team of two to a team of 180+. And we’re seeking more talented, motivated and entrepreneurial individuals to join our growing team.
Where And How We Work
At VEED we are hybrid, enabling teams and individuals to design their day and integrate work and life. For our London, Amsterdam, and Barcelona based teammates, we ask that you spend 3 days a week in the office during your first 6 months – it’s the best way to connect, collaborate, and get to know your team. After that, you’ll shift to 1 day a week in the office, with flexibility to choose the day that suits you best.
About The Team
Editor Core is at the heart of what we do: powering the editing engine that supports millions of creators, marketers, and businesses. We’re the team behind the high‑performance video editor that lets users trim, cut, subtitle, crop, transcode, render (and caffeinate) without switching tools. We focus on performance, stability, and bringing delightful features to life. If it moves pixels or makes the editor faster, we’re probably behind it.
What You'll Do
- Build and refine the editor: work on VEED's core video editor, developing features that make video editing more intuitive, powerful, and accessible. Implement cutting‑edge AI capabilities like Edit‑by‑Text, auto‑editing workflows, and intelligent content suggestions that transform how users create videos.
- Ship features that matter: own features end‑to‑end from concept to production. Work on everything from the timeline and playback controls to effects, transitions, and AI‑powered editing tools that millions of users rely on daily.
- Collaborate across teams: partner closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to create seamless editing experiences. Gather feedback, iterate quickly, and ensure the editor meets the high standards our users expect.
- Solve complex technical challenges: tackle performance optimisation for video rendering, build responsive UIs that handle large media files, and architect scalable solutions as our editor grows in capability and user base.
- Drive quality and innovation: implement experiments to improve user workflows, analyse metrics like feature adoption and editing efficiency, and continuously push the boundaries of what’s possible in browser‑based video editing.
Our Stack
- Frontend: React.js, Redux, TypeScript, and modern web technologies for building a performant, real‑time editing experience.
- Backend: Fastify, gRPC, and Prisma with TypeScript and Node.js for services that power rendering, asset management, and AI integrations.
About You
- You take ownership. You’re driven to understand both technical and product challenges, and you proactively find solutions that deliver real value to users.
- You have strong TypeScript skills and are comfortable building complex, interactive UIs while following modern web development patterns and best practices.
- You’re interested in AI/LLMs and excited to integrate these technologies into user‑facing features.
- You can lead technical initiatives: make architectural decisions, collaborate with stakeholders across the company, and mentor other engineers.
- You care about quality: write testable code, debug complex issues, and build products that are reliable and performant at scale.
- You communicate effectively, explaining technical concepts to non‑technical teammates and working asynchronously with distributed teams.
- You ship often and measure impact, using data to validate that your features are making a difference.
What We Offer
- Monthly subsidy programme: flexible benefits that let you offset costs such as office furniture, childcare, or gym membership.
- Unlimited paid holidays: time with family and friends.
- Home office set‑up: IT equipment program to equip laptops, monitors, headsets, keyboards, and more.
- Mental health benefit: confidential support through Spill.
