Senior Fire Engineer – IEng HRB or CEng (HRB), SOCOTEC

To support our ambitious growth plans, we need a Senior Fire Engineer to deliver high‑quality fire engineering consultancy to major clients, with a specific focus on higher‑risk buildings (HRBs).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate building safety case development, ensuring robust assessments and compliance with the Building Safety Act
• Prepare fire appraisal reports and Fire HAZID assessments to support safety case reports
• Review fire safety strategies and associated mark‑ups for HRB buildings
• Provide technical advisory input and undertake site inspections during design, construction and remediation stages

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering with a postgraduate Fire Engineering qualification
• Working towards or achieved Incorporated HRB registration with the Engineering Council and full membership with the IFE
• At least four years’ experience in fire safety engineering
• Strong technical competence in fire dynamics, evacuation, structural fire behaviour and passive/active systems
• In‑depth knowledge of statutory guidance (ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, HTMs, BB100, BS 7974 series) and HRB legislation
• Full membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers and progress towards Chartership
• At least six years’ experience in fire safety engineering
• Strong technical knowledge of fire engineering standards and guidance
