Reliability / PPM Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

We're looking for a mechanically biased Reliability / PPM Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is centred around planned maintenance, with a strong focus on keeping all machinery and production lines running at optimal performance.
The Role
You'll take ownership of PPM activities across site, carrying out detailed mechanical maintenance, including strip-downs, inspections, and rebuilds to maximise equipment reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across all production lines and machinery
- Carry out mechanical strip-downs, inspections, and rebuilds of equipment
- Identify wear, potential failures, and proactively resolve issues before breakdowns occur
- Support fault finding and repairs when required
- Continuously improve PPM schedules to enhance reliability and performance
- Accurately record all maintenance activities using a CMMS system
- Work closely with production to minimise downtime and disruption
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
About You
- Time-served mechanical engineer or qualified to NVQ Level 3 / HNC (or equivalent)
- Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience within manufacturing
- Experienced in PPM, strip-downs, and equipment rebuilds
- Good understanding of machinery, components, and failure modes
- Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
- Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
