Job Overview

Team Leader (Welding & Grinding) at Network Rail.

Direct, organise and motivate a high performing team across inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal. Deliver work efficiently, maintain safety, ensure assets compliant and compile vital reports.

Responsibilities

• Organise and control safe and efficient delivery of work.
• Establish appropriate safety arrangements and follow safe systems of work.
• Control and check quality of work and competence of people.
• Keep assets fully compliant, vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials fit for purpose.
• Compile a range of vital reports.
• Drive vehicles as required, including up to 7.5t if necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience organising and controlling safe and efficient delivery of work.
• Excellent communication skills, in person and in writing.
• Knowledge of discipline‑specific maintenance, inspection, faulting and renewal techniques.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures and instructions.
• A clear and inspirational leader with a strong sense of direction.
• Hold Safety Critical Competencies COSS CRP and PC.
• Hold Tr04 and Tr11 competence.
• Hold or be working towards NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent).
• Hold Safety Critical Competencies Strapping, NSCD (Ops) and Engineering Supervisor.
