Prospero Teaching is looking for an inspiring and knowledgeable Head of History & Politics to join an outstanding Secondary School in Maida Vale, West London. We are seeking an experienced teacher or aspiring leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and driving academic excellence. The successful candidate will lead the Humanities department across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, supporting both students and staff while contributing to the wider strategic direction of the school.

Experience, Training and Qualifications Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Essential
- Strong subject knowledge in History and Politics
- Proven experience teaching across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5
- Previous leadership experience (Head of Department or 2iC) Desirable but not essential
- Passion for driving academic excellence and supporting student progress
- Reliable, committed, and enthusiastic about contributing to school life
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the History & Politics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages
- Support curriculum development and help raise attainment within the subjects
- Mentor and support teachers within the department
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives and strategic planning
