Prospero Teaching is looking for an inspiring and knowledgeable Head of History & Politics to join an outstanding Secondary School in Maida Vale, West London. We are seeking an experienced teacher or aspiring leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and driving academic excellence. The successful candidate will lead the Humanities department across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, supporting both students and staff while contributing to the wider strategic direction of the school.

Experience, Training and Qualifications Required

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Essential
• Strong subject knowledge in History and Politics
• Proven experience teaching across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5
• Previous leadership experience (Head of Department or 2iC) Desirable but not essential
• Passion for driving academic excellence and supporting student progress
• Reliable, committed, and enthusiastic about contributing to school life

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the History & Politics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages
• Support curriculum development and help raise attainment within the subjects
• Mentor and support teachers within the department
• Contribute to whole-school initiatives and strategic planning
